Wednesday, July 15, 2009 (Our second full day at the MTC)
It seems like we’ve been here a week already and we are only starting our second full day at the MTC. Time seems to be crawling by with so much to do, so many lessons to learn and practice. We have very little free time. Our schedule is packed from 7:00am until 8:00pm.
Again this afternoon we got to “Roll Play” with a volunteer named Tina Anderson. We taught her our Heavenly Father’s Plan of Salvation and challenged. Again we took turns teaching each of the principles. It was a very good experience for both of us as well as the mock investigator. Pam even used her family’s personal story of conversion to emphasis our Heavenly Father’s plan for children who die before the age of accountability. Sister Anderson was so moved by Pam’s teaching she had tears well up in her eyes. It was a very powerful moment of teaching by the spirit.
Tonight in our Spanish tutoring session Pam & I got to finally meet our “maestro,” Benjamin Vera that tutored us on the telephone for over two months. It was a great reunion as if we were reunited with a long lost friend. “Brazos” abounded! We also got to meet his substitute Fabricio Alegre, who taught us a couple of times.
We found out that Benjamin Vera’s mission President in Mexico was Elder Wilford W. Andersen, 2nd Cn. In the Caribbean Area Presidency and is from Mesa. Small world! Benjamin asked me to say hello to him when we get to the Dominican Republic.
