It was a very busy Monday as usual. I started off with a special run to the bank and to “Centro de Servicio” to process an emergency “Dueño” vendor approval for IMOS. Sometimes these approvals require weeks, some have taken months. This time I hand carried the documents from desk to desk and saw the process through to the end. I was done and had the final approval in less than 30 minutes, a new speed record, it was great!

Next I was at the Mission Home for almost 2 hours with the Elder and Hna’s of the San Cristobal Zone. Again I delivered the mail, collected mail, collected “reembolso” slips, took orders for the Temple Tienda, sold “Conde Bags” and sold “Aceteros” (oil vials).

The highlight of the morning was the big group picture I took in front of the mission home. The San Cristobal Zone has 26 Elders and Hna.’s, it’s the largest Zone in the mission. There were too many missionaries to take the picture inside the house so we took it on the front sidewalk.

Tonight for the Seniors FHE we had our Thanksgiving dinner in the home of the new Temple President, Pres. & Hna. Bair. We also used the occasion to give a special welcome to the two newest couple that have arrived, Pres. & Hna. Bair and Elder and Hna. Burk the new 2nd Counselor in the Temple Presidency.

While at FHE I received a report from Dr. Kilgore on the progress of Hna. Reyes. She flew to Guatemala with Dr. & Hna. Kilgore last Tuesday, Nov. 16th to have a brain tumor removed. Dr. Kilgore said the surgery was successful and she is improving fast. The good news is that she did not have a brain tumor; they discovered that she had a parasite (Trichinosis) in the 4th ventricle of her brain. They can treat her for the parasite and after recovering she should be able to return to the mission field. She has truly been blessed in all that has happened over the past 2 weeks.
