Today Hna. Johnson talked to Elder and Hna. Ford, our replacements, on the phone. They are scheduled to arrive in the DR on April first, three months from now. They mentioned to Hna. Johnson that they have all of their affairs in order and are ready to leave on their mission as soon as possible. They volunteered to call the mission department in SLC to request their arrival date be moved up.
Wow! In less than an hour we received an e-mail from SLC with the change and the new arrival date for Elder and Hna. Ford. Their new arrival date is February 21st. This is seven weeks earlier than their original call stated. This is very good news. We and the office Elders are ecstatic over the development. The Lord has truly prepared and called the right couple for the Santo Domingo West Mission office.
Today Elder Huey, Elder Barquero and I went to Price Smart to fill orders for our missionaries. This was another one of those “Last Time” events for me. But it was also a first for Elder Huey. We went to the Customer service counter and signed him onto the mission account. Now he has his own Price Smart card and will be doing all of the purchasing in the future. It was the same at Citi Bank this morning. All of the mission’s transactions and “Petty Cash” check were in Elder Huey’s name.
