Friday, December 24, 2010 - Christmas Eve

Because today was a very slow day in the mission office, Hna. Johnson stayed home and worked on projects there. The office Elders know all of Hna. Johnson duties now and they need the practice of doing things on their own. They did a good job today.

I spent the day in the office working with the Elders. We worked on the mission history for 2010, a special mission photo roster for Pres. & Hna. Almonte and I continued to train the Elders on more of the office duties that I do. It was a very good and productive day of training in the office.

**E-MAIL CHRISTMAS GREETING TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS**

Dear Family and Friends,
Hna. Johnson and I are coming to the end of our 18 month mission. Our time here in the Dominican Republic has flown by; we will be release in less than 3 weeks. We have loved every minute of our service in this beautiful island nation. Working in the mission office has truly been a blessing. We’ve been in the center of a growing dynamic mission full of enthusiastic young Elders and Hermanas whose sole desire is to work hard and serve the Lord.

We have mixed feelings about leaving the mission. We love our mission so much that it will be hard to say goodbye. We really do wish it would never end. On the other hand we look forward to returning to our home and seeing our family, friends and especially our grandchildren. We can’t wait to fill our arms with them.

Two of our sons and their wives (Jacob & Wendy, Nathan & Valerie) will by flying down the pick us up and we plan to spend a week visiting some of the new friends we’ve made all over the mission. We will also be touring and seeing the sights of this beautiful country. We will arrive back in Mesa, Arizona on Friday, January 21, 2010.

We know that the labor that we have been engaged in for the past year and a half is the work of the Lord and that He leads and guides His church here on the earth. We have witnessed his hand work in the lives of His saints and others who are investigating to find the truth. We have been witness to His love, mercy and many miracles in their lives.

As the year draws to an end and we commemorate the birth of His son, our Lord & Savior, we wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We bear witness that this is His only true and living church upon the face of the earth.

We love each of you and we can not express enough how grateful we are for your love and support this past year and a half. We have felt your prayer in our behalf and we know that they have been answered. Our prayer for you this Christmas Season is that you may receive the blessing of heaven for you and yours, that peace fill your lives and the love of the Savior fills your hearts.

With all our love,
Elder David & Hna. Pam Johnson
