Today was the big day for our conversion to the new computer system in the office called “Internet Missionary Office System” or IMOS for short. All morning the conversion data team in SLC was hammering away at our file conversions. The e-mails were flying back and forth until about 2:00pm when we got an Email from Mark, the head of the conversion team. It was official, we were now going live on IMOS in 5,4,3,2,….. Hna. Johnson buried her head in her hands and mumbled something, maybe it was a prayer or it could have been profanity, I’m not sure but we were going live. Then we got another e-mail from Mark. They had detected another data conversion error and he estimated it would take the team a couple of hours to work out the new bugs. Hna. Johnson breathed a sigh of relief. We didn’t hear back from them for the rest of the afternoon so… Tomorrow, tomorrow will be the big day for our conversion to IMOS. I think Hna. Johnson is handling the stress very well!
