We woke to rain again this morning. Not a lot like yesterday but our drive back to the capital was completely overcast. It was a very pleasant drive because we didn’t have to look straight into the sun as we drove east from Azua. The gray sky yesterday and today kind of reminded me of the November in 1995 when Hna. Johnson and I picked up our son Daniel in London England. The sun seldom peaked through the clouds and everything was damp from a light rain or dew. The air was crisp and clean and the English countryside near the London Temple was green and beautiful. Well… here on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea it will never be like the countryside of England but for a moment or two yesterday and today it did bring back fond memories our trip to England to picking up our son Daniel from his mission.

Back at the office we spent the whole day preparing for “Translados” (Transfers) tomorrow. Hna. Johnson was busy with financial reports, documents, missionary packets, etc. I worked mostly on the “Picture Roster” board, preparing it for the down load of pictures of the 17 new Elders and 3 Sisters that will arrive tomorrow morning at 7:00am. It’s going to be a big day tomorrow.

We were able to attend FHE with the other Senior Couples at the “Casa de Huespedes” (Accommodation Center) at the Temple. It was very enjoyable because we get to talk to other Senior Couples and have a pleasant evening away from our duties at the office. While we were there Hna. Johnson and I talked to the Whitakers, the office couple in the Santo Domingo East Mission. Tomorrow they are getting 26 new missionaries. They will have a bigger day than we will.
