Elder Fitch was in the office all morning. He was waiting for his final interview with Pres. Almonte. He is going home tomorrow to Veronia, OR. The rest of his group are going home next transfer but he is leaving a few weeks early to go to school. Elder Fitch is a dedicated hard working Elder and a great missionary.
Elder Fitch has been doing a great job serving in the San Juan Zone, Mesopotamia Area for 4 months (three transfers). It was obvious he didn’t like sitting around the office. A couple of time he asked if there was anything he could do in the office to help. I jokingly said, “You don’t leave until tomorrow, get out there and preach the gospel”. He responded quite seriously, “I wish I could”. In spite of the long day of waiting for his interview he did spend part of the day doing splits with the office Elders. Yes, Elder Fitch is one of the Lord’s finest.

I had a rough night last night. It started at about the time we left the office at 5:30 and my health went downhill from there. By 2:00am I had a fever with chills. I had an excruciating headache and all of my joints and bones ached, even my jaw and teeth ached. I had all the classic symptoms of the flu. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep. When I got up I still had a bit of a fever so I stayed home from work. I didn’t want anyone catching my bug. However, by noon I was feeling much better. I still had a bit of a headache but I was over all of the other symptoms. That was the shortest case of the flu I’ve ever had. I’ve heard of the 24 hour flu but mine was only 18 hours, if that.
