During the past 5 weeks we’ve grown very close to the assistants to the president here in the capital. Especially Elder Conner Ruggio, who goes home next week. He has been an AP for 7 months and has been training two new elders to take his place. Elder Ruggio has been helping Sister Johnson and I a lot. His insight and understanding of the mission and its operation have been very helpful to us. We will miss him a lot.
Sister Johnson and I took the three AP’s out to dinner tonight. We gave them their choice of where they wanted to go and it was unanimous, Papa John’s Pizza! Yes they do have Papa John’s pizza in the DR. This is the third group of Elders we’ve treated to dinner and it is official. When given their choice, 2 out of 3 missionaries prefer pizza! Why am I not surprised.
